Body Sculpting
Body sculpting is a fitness workout designed to help you lose weight and tone up your muscles without increasing the size of your muscles. It helps boost your metabolism by combining weight training and aerobic activities in one routine. The weight training exercises are easy to learn and have more benefits that aerobics on its own. You also see results faster because you use weights that place some stress on the muscles.
You do have to follow a diet when you want to lose weight. The same is true of body sculpting. Along with toning your muscles through exercise, you have to cut back on the number of calories you consume in order to get rid of the bulges and unwanted fat. The main thing, though, is that you are consistent in your exercise routine. You can go to a gym and join a class or you can follow the routine at home. If you are doing this at home, allow 20-30 minutes a day for three days a week. Your muscles need a day of rest in between routines.
Before you start a routine for body sculpting, you should have a check up from your doctor to make sure all your body organs are working properly. Beginners should always start off slow with a routine geared to them. One mistake many people make is that they start off with a routine that is designed for someone who has been involved with body sculpting for quite sometime and this taxes the muscles too much, making them feel tired and sore.
A typical routine for a beginner would be:
- 75º Incline DB Bench Press
- DB Bench Press
- One Arm Rows
- DB Pullovers
- Bent Over Lateral Raises
- DB Upright Rows
- Dumbbell Curls
- Overhead Triceps Extensions
- Leg Extensions
- DB Squats
- DB Lunges
- Lying Leg Curls
- Calf Raises
When exercising, you should perform 10-12 sets of each exercise resting for one minute in between.
