Dark Spots Removal
As you age, you will start to notice dark spots developing on your skin. You may even notice dark spots remaining after you get a mosquito bite and you scratch the area a lot. The sun-exposed areas of your skin are most at risk, especially the face and hands. Pregnancy and trauma can also cause these dark spots to develop.
The first thing you have to do is visit your doctor to ensure that these spots do not pose any danger to you. If they are nothing to worry about, your doctor can remove them quite easily. One of the ways of removing dark spots from the skin is through the application of cream that contains hydroquinone cream, sunscreen and tretonon cream. You do need a prescription to obtain this from the pharmacy because of the presence of tretonin cream. Cream works when the spots are not elevated and lie flat against the skin.
If the dark spots are elevated, this doesn’t mean you need surgery to have them removed. Through a procedure called electocautery, the doctor can freeze off the spots using liquid nitrogen. This is a very simple procedure that the doctor can do in the office in only a few minutes and it doesn’t hurt at all.
You can also visit a dermatologist to have a skin peel done with weak acids. However, sometimes, this procedure will leave all of the skin darker.
